Firefighters tackle 'well-alight' blaze in sheds as homes evacuated

Homes have been evacuated in a Moray town as firefighters tackle a “well-alight” blaze which broke out in two sheds.

Emergency services were called around 1.38pm on Friday afternoon after the fire broke out on Simmereve Lane in Keith.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised three appliances to the scene, where two sheds are “well alight”.

Crews remain in attendance as they work to make the area safe and there are no reported casualties.

Nearby properties have been evacuated as a precaution and Mid Street in the town has been closed, police said.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed where possible.
