Five people taken to hospital after early morning house fire in Aberdeenshire

Five people have been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a house in Aberdeenshire in the early hours.

Emergency services were called to a two-storey home on Kingston Gardens in Ellon at around 5.28am on Friday after reports of a blaze.

A video of the incident shows a significant amount of smoke billowing from the roof and through the door.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent four engines to the scene, along with a high-reach vehicle.

Firefighters are still working to bring the incident under control.

Five people were treated for smoke inhalation.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.28am on Friday, July 24, to reports of a dwelling fire on Kingston Gardens, Ellon.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and a high-reach vehicle to extinguish a fire affecting a two-storey detached property.

“Five casualties were treated for smoke inhalation.

“Firefighters remain at the scene as they work to make the area safe.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service added: “We received a call at 5.42am to attend an incident on Kingston Gardens, Ellon.

“We dispatched two ambulances and two special operations response teams (SORT) to the scene. We transported five patients to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
