Part of a woodland has been cordoned off by police investigating the “unexplained” death of a woman reported missing from Lossiemouth in Moray.
Police, forensics teams and Coastguard officers are carrying out enquiries at Oakenhead Wood following the discovery of a woman’s body in the search for Mary Fraser.
The 57-year-old was reported missing on Tuesday after being last seen in the Dean Terrace area of the Moray town at around 8am.

Police confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that a body had been found during a search and the death was being treated as “unexplained”.
Police ScotlandForensic teams were seen removing bags of evidence from an area of the wood close to Lossiemouth Town Cemetery on Thursday.
Police officers were guarding a cordoned off section of the woodland which sits close to Spynie Canal and the River Lossie.
STV NewsA spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The body of a woman has been found in Lossiemouth during searches for a missing person.
“She is yet to be formally identified but the family of Mary Fraser, 57, who had been reported missing in the area has been informed.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
