iStockFour people who allegedly defrauded an Aberdeen man out of a six-figure sum of money have been charged.
The high value cyber-enabled fraud allegedly compromised the 59-year-old’s online finances.
An investigation was carried out by officers from North East Division’s cyber-enabled crime team, resulting in warrants being executed at properties in London, Leeds and Lancashire.
Three men, aged 18, 33, and 47, and a women aged 38 were arrested and charged and will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Detective Sergeant Craig Murray, of the Cyber-Enabled Crime Team, said: “Police Scotland are committed to protecting the public from cyber-enabled organised crime and pursuing those responsible.
