The family of twin sisters who were found dead in Aberdeen have thanked the public for their “incredible kindness” after a fundraiser launched to help them raised over £8,000.
Henrietta and Eliza Huszti, 32, disappeared in the early hours of January 7, sparking a major search and rescue operation.
The bodies of the women, part of a set of triplets originally from Hungary, were found in the River Dee on January 31, close to where they were last seen alive.
Their death certificates both record drowning as their cause of death.
A fundraiser, with an initial target of £1,500, was launched to support the twin sisters’ family.
However, the fundraiser is now close to reaching over £8,000.
The women’s family have been described as “deeply heartbroken” by their deaths.
An update on the fundraiser from organiser Anita Vida read: “I want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who has donated or offered support over the past three weeks. Your generosity and kindness have made a tremendous difference.
“Thank you again for your incredible support—it truly means the world to the family during this difficult time.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the tragic loss of Henrietta and Eliza Huszti, who went missing on January 7 and were sadly discovered on 31st in River Dee, Aberdeen.
“This unimaginable loss has left their family devastated, and in this difficult time, we want to come together to offer our support.
“If you are able to contribute, any donation – no matter the amount – will help ease the financial burden on their grieving loved ones. Your kindness and generosity will mean so much to the family as they navigate this heartbreaking time.
“Thank you for your support, compassion and prayers.”
