A gun has been discovered at a property in Moray, months after a body was found at the same address.
The firearm was handed over to officers around 1pm on Saturday after the gun was uncovered at the property on Munro Place in Elgin.
It follows the death of a man at the same property almost two months ago.
On November 27, emergency services were called to the home around 9.45am following reports of concern for a man.
Officers discovered a body within the property on arrival.
The death remains unexplained, however investigators do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
It is understood the gun recovery is not believed to be linked to the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.10pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025, a firearm was handed in to police after being found at a property on Munro Place, Elgin.
“Enquiries are ongoing.
“There is no risk to the wider public.”
