Google MapsA gun has been found in a forested area popular with walkers in Perth and Kinross.
The discovery was made in Scone Woods, in the town of Scone, at around 4pm on Sunday.
Police Scotland has since launched an investigation after the firearm was recovered.
A spokesperson for Scone Community Council said the find was “very concerning”.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a firearm was found within Scone Woods, at around 4pm on Sunday, September 12.
It was safely recovered and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
