Fire crews say it is hard to predict when a blaze within a recycling centre in Dundee will be put out six days after it broke out.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to the fire affecting a large area within the centre on Wright Avenue in the city on Thursday, September 4.
Three appliances were initially dispatched to the scene, with one remaining in attendance six days after the initial call-out.
Crews are continuing to work to extinguish the deep-seated fire, which involves a large amount of garden waste and compost.
Area Commander Bryan Todd says that while smoke levels have reduced, residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed if they see or smell smoke.

He said that while firefighters continue to make progress, due to the challenging nature of the fire, it is “very hard to predict” when it will conclude.
He said: “One appliance and a specialist resource remain in attendance as of 5pm on Wednesday, September 10, with the crew continuing to work towards extinguishing a deep-seated fire involving a large amount of garden waste and compost.
“While smoke levels have reduced across the local area, due to changing wind direction, we do advise that if residents can see or smell smoke to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution.
LSO Todd continued: “While firefighters continue to make progress, due to the challenging nature of this fire, it is very hard to predict when we may be able to bring this incident to a conclusion.
“We continue to work closely with our colleagues at Dundee City Council, and we thank the public for their continued cooperation and patience as we work to make the area safe.”
