Homes evacuated after pram set alight in block of flats 

Residents were ordered to leave their homes after the fire was reported in a block of flats in Aberdeen.

A number of Aberdeen homes were evacuated after a pram was set on fire at a flat block.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire at a building on Goodhope Park in the Bucksburn area of the city at around 3.30pm on Wednesday.

Residents of the surrounding properties were told to leave their homes as a precaution. No injuries were reported.

Video from the scene shows a child’s buggy engulfed in flames within the flat complex.

Four fire engines were sent to the scene, and crews extinguished the blaze.

Firefighters left the scene at 6pm after ensuring the area was safe.

Investigators are treating the fire as deliberate, and enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.30pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, police received a report of a fire at a block of flats on Goodhope Park, Bucksburn, Aberdeen.

“There were no injuries reported, and a number of the surrounding properties were evacuated as a precaution.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 3.24pm on Wednesday, October 15, to reports of a fire affecting a residential property near to Goodhope Park, Bucksburn.

“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances to the scene and crews extinguished the fire.

“There are no reported casualties, and firefighters left at 6.00pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”
