Police are searching for a hooded suspect who fled in an SUV after stabbing a man in Sauchie.

The 63-year-old was on a footpath in Holton Crescent around 7.05pm on Tuesday when he was attacked.

The victim was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Police are treating the incident as a targeted attack and are appealing for the public’s help to identify the suspect.

The man is described as white, aged 35-45, around 6ft tall, of medium build, with a red/auburn beard.

He was wearing a dark blue hooded jumper, dark trousers and white trainers. It is believed he fled the scene in a dark SUV-style vehicle with a coloured roof box.

Detective constable Jenna Alexander said: “We are following a positive line of enquiry and want to reassure the local community that we are using all resources available to find the person responsible for this attack.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area, and anyone with concerns can approach these officers.

“I’d urge anyone who recognises the description or saw what happened, to come forward. Anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage in the area is asked to review this for anything which may assist our investigation.”
