Police are working to identify a group involved in “appalling” disorder outside a football stadium in Arbroath.

A number of people were reported to be involved in disorderly behaviour outside Gayfield Football Stadium around 9.45pm on Friday.

The incident unfolded following an Arbroath and Greenock Morton match.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Inspector Jamie Webster said: “The acts of disorder seen in Arbroath on Friday night after the football game were appalling.

“We are liaising with both Arbroath FC and Greenock Morton FC in an effort to identify those responsible.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have captured mobile phone footage, photographs or dash-cam recordings from the area at the time.”
