STV NewsAn investigation is under way after a fire engulfed a derelict building in Dundee’s former mill district.
The alarm was raised at around 3.20pm on Monday after the property at the junction of Milnes East Wynd and Douglas Street went on fire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said ten fire trucks were mobilised, including two aerial platforms, to tackle the “well-developed” blaze.
Flames had reached the roof space of the two-storey building and thick, black smoke billowed across the city.
The fire was eventually extinguished by fire crews and nobody was injured, however the cause of the fire is currently “unexplained”, Police Scotland said.
STV NewsDetective sergeant Sean McCabe said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances of this fire and would urge anyone with information which could help to come forward.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage or private CCTV.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2050 of Monday, July 25.”
