Jasper Image via SuppliedAn investigation has been launched after a woman was taken to hospital following a house fire in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were alerted at around 1.30am on Thursday when a property went ablaze at Myrus Crescent in Macduff.
The fire was quickly extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and a 64-year-old woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to her injuries.
Her current condition is unknown.
Jasper Image via SuppliedAn joint investigation between Police Scotland and the fire service has been launched to establish the cause of the blaze.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.30am on Thursday, July 21, 2022, officers were called to a report of a fire at Myrus Crescent in Macduff.
“Emergency services attended and a 64-year-old woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“A joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 1.17am on Thursday, July 21, to reports of a house on fire at Myrus Circle, MacDuff.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a single storey house.
“Firefighters assisted one casualty from the property, who was handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to hospital.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
