Residents are being urged to keep windows and doors closed as firefighters battle a hillside blaze in Aberdeenshire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called around 1.22pm on Thursday to extinguish a hillside fire, west of Aboyne.
There are six fire appliances and other resources at the scene.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area, particularly the A97 and B9119.
People living nearby are being urged to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.
A Police Scotland statement: “Emergency services are responding to reports of a wildfire near the B9119 in Aboyne.
“Drivers are asked to avoid the area and nearby residents are asked to keep windows and doors closed.”
