Kitten shot with pellet gun dies as owners offer £500 reward to catch killers

A six-month old kitten who was shot with a pellet gun in Aberdeen has died.

Tango was shot in the Sclattie Park area of Bucksburn village on Sunday.

Clearly in pain the pet was taken to a nearby vets who found an entry wound, believed to have been caused by a pellet gun, during an examination.

Tango’s owners confirmed he had died from his injuries on Monday night.

Heartbroken David O’Neill and Mandy Anderson have now offered a £500 reward to catch its killers.

Police confirmed that they are investigating the incident.

There are also reports this is the second cat to be targeted in the area.

A spokesperson said: “On Sunday police received a report that a cat had been injured after being shot by a pellet gun in the area of Sclattie Park, Bucksburn.

“Enquiries are ongoing into this matter.”

Local news site Fubar News confirmed the death on Monday, saying: Sadly Tango passed away. He was sadly shot with a suspected pellet in in the Bucksburn area. Out thoughts are with Tangos owners and heartbroken for them.”

Pet owners were warned that two cats had been shot in the area in recent weeks.

A statement from Fubar News Lost and Found Pets on Monday morning said: “This is now the second cat in Bucksburn that has been seriously injured.

“If anyone has any information who has this gun and is shooting these cats please contact 101.”
