A serial sex attacker who raped two young girls as they slept over at his house has been jailed for ten and a half years.
Married Joseph Holmes also sexually assaulted two other young females during a 21-year-campaign of abuse that took place between January 1999 and December 2020.
The 64-year-old lorry driver’s rape victims were aged 12 and 14 when he attacked them at an address in Rattray, Aberdeenshire.
Holmes was brought to justice after one of the victims, who stayed over at the property during the coronavirus pandemic, handed her mother a note revealing the attack which took place on the early hours of December 2, 2020.
The note sparked a police probe and other victims were found during the investigation.
Holmes was arrested before eventually pleading guilty to raping two gilrs and sexually assaulting the others.
He was sentenced to spend more than a decade behind bars at the High Court in Glasgow on Thursday.
Lord Armstrong said the jail term would have been 14 years, but for Holmes admitting his guilt.
He will also be monitored for a further five and a half years on his release.
