A major road in Aberdeenshire has been closed due to lorry fire.
Traffic Scotland confirmed that the A90 southbound carriageway has been closed at Ellon due to the blaze that was reported around midday.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has dispatched two fire engines to the scene where crews are working to bring the incident under control.
Traffic on the road is currently at a standstill with some drivers pictured standing outside of their cars.
Drivers have been advised to avoid the area.
Latest updates at 3.13pm confirmed that the southbound carriageway remains closed.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 11.25am on Thursday, August 8, to reports of a lorry fire affecting a grass embankment on the A90 near Ellon, Aberdeenshire.
“Operations Control have mobilised two appliances to the incident where crews are working to extinguish the fire.
“There are no reported casualties, and firefighters remain at the scene.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland: The A90 is closed southbound south of Ellon due to a lorry on fire that was reported to police around 11.30am on Thursday, August 8.
“The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance and there are no injuries.
“Road users are advised to avoid the area.”
