A sheep named Lucky has been rescued after she became stranded on a rock face in Angus.
Tayside Mountain Rescue Team was alerted to the incident on Thursday by Glen Clova Hotel and Luxury Lodges.
A specialist sheep rescue technician attended the scene to assist with the unusual operation.
The ewe was safely lowered to the ground and has since been affectionately called Lucky.
A post from Tayside MRT read: “There are around 630,000 sheep in Tayside.
“Many are hardy hillgoers, but every so often even they require the assistance of mountain rescue.
Tayside MRT“This morning we received a request for assistance from Glen Clova Hotel & Luxury Lodges after a sheep in the glen had become stranded on a rock face.
“With the situation posing a risk to both the animal and members of the public, we deployed our specialist sheep rescue technician.
“In no time at all, ‘Lucky’ — as she has now been named — was back on the ground safe and sound.”
