A man has been charged after two people were allegedly attacked at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s A&E on Friday

The hospital’s Accident and Emergency department was put on lockdown and evacuated as emergency services were called around 5.30pm.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the hospital. Two people were treated at the scene.

Fire crews confirmed the matter was a police incident and they were standing by to assist.

The A&E department reopened around 7.40pm as some emergency services left the scene.

Officers have charged a 37-year-old man in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the assault of two people at a hospital in Aberdeen.

“Emergency services were called around 5.30pm on Friday, October 10, 2025, and two people were treated at the scene.

“He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, October 13, 2025. Enquiries are ongoing.”
