darrensp via iStockA man has been charged after police discovered 24kg worth of cannabis in a car in Aberdeenshire.
Officers acting on intelligence stopped a car on the A90 near Fordoun around 10am on Saturday.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the drugs, with an estimated value of £144,000, being discovered.
A 67-year-old man was arrested and charged and is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.
Detective sergeant Greg Dorrat said: “This was a significant drugs recovery that has taken £144,000 worth of drugs out of our communities.
“Drugs cause misery in our communities, and we are determined to disrupt the supply of illegal substances and trace those involved.
“This recovery underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
