A man was airlifted to hospital following a one-vehicle crash on an Aberdeenshire road.
Emergency services were alerted to the scene, which involved a van, on the B9170 near Oldmeldrum at around 3.35pm on Sunday.
Two people were removed from the van and a 52-year-old man was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
A local said the roads had been “horrendous” around Inverurie and Oldmeldrum all day, with another pointing out heavy fog also observed in the area.
The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) said it dispatched five resources to the scene, alongside two fire engines deployed by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).
The road was closed by Police Scotland for around four hours to allow for vehicle recovery, fully reopening by 7.50pm.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers were called to reports of a one vehicle crash on the B9170 near Oldmeldrum at around 3.35pm on Sunday, September 4, 2022.
“Emergency services attended and a 52-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance.”
“The road was closed to allow vehicle recovery to take place and fully reopened at around 7.50pm.”
An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.46pm on Sunday, September 4 to reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle between Oldmeldrum and Inverurie.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters assisted emergency service partners, dealing with two casualties.
“Crews left after ensuring the scene was made safe.”
An SAS spokesperson said: “We received a call at 3.33pm to attend an incident on the B9170.
“We dispatched five resources to the scene and transported one patient to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
