A man and woman have appeared in court in connection with allegedly assaulting and abducting a woman in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called to reports of the abduction of a 45-year-old woman in the Broadsea Road area of Fraserburgh on Sunday.
Maksims Mavro, 25, and Inesa Kalmykovaite, 28, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
The pair appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Wednesday charged with abduction and assault to injury.
They both made no plea and were granted bail. Their next appearance has not been confirmed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 28-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man have been arrested and charged following a report of an abduction of a 45-year-old woman in the Broadsea Road area of Fraserburgh on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
“They’re due to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 18 June.
“A 25-year-old man was also arrested and charged in connection with the incident and appeared in court on Tuesday, June 17.
“This is being treated as an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.”
