Man and woman charged after 52-year-old 'stabbed' on Canal Street in Perth

A man and woman have been charged in connection with an alleged stabbing on a street in Perth on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to Canal Street at around 2.15pm following reports of a serious assault.

A 52-year-old man was taken to Ninewells University Hospital in Dundee for treatment.

Officers have charged a man, aged 37, and a 40-year-old woman in connection with the incident. The pair are due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court at a later date,

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.15pm on Sunday, February 8, 2026, we were called to Canal Street in Perth after a report of a serious assault.

“A 52-year-old man was taken to Ninewells University Hospital for treatment.

“A 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection. They are both due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court at a later date.”
