A man has appeared in court after an incident in which several properties were evacuated near Glamis Castle.
At around 9am on October 6, police executed a warrant at Dundee Road in Glamis.
While officers carried out their enquiries, a number of neighbouring properties were evacuated to ensure public safety.
A 46-year-old man was charged in connection and appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court on Friday.
James Boyd appeared charged with threatening and abusive behaviour.
He made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
He will next appear in court within the next eight days.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers executed a warrant at an address on Dundee Road, Glamis around 9am on Friday, October 6, 2023.
“A number of neighbouring properties have been evacuated as a precaution to ensure public safety while officers carry out their enquiries.
“A 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection. He is due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Friday, October 6, 2023.
“The road is currently closed and the public are asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.”
