A 75-year-old man has been left in hospital after being assaulted in Aberdeen city centre.
Officers were called to reports of an assault at around 2.55pm on Saturday on Union Street.
A 75-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. His current condition is unknown at this stage.
Police confirmed that a 45-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
A spokesperson said: “Around 2.55pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024, police were called to a report of a man having been assaulted in Union Street, Aberdeen.
“Officers attended and a 75-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
“A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
