A man has been arrested and charged after a large amount of cannabis was found in a car on Great Northern Road in Aberdeen.
The 34-year-old has been charged over the find that took place during an “intelligence-led stop and search” by police of the vehicle at 11:55am on Saturday.
Officers stopped the car on the Great Northern Road before the drugs, with an estimated street value of £120,000, were recovered. The man was taken into custody and is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.
Detective inspector Robin Sim, from the Specialist Crime Division in Aberdeen, said: “Drug dealing and misuse brings nothing but misery to our communities and I want to reassure people across the North East that we will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from our streets.
“Our work relies on information provided by members of the community, so we encourage anyone with concerns about drugs in their area to contact us on 101, or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
