A man has been charged following a three-vehicle crash which damaged a gas pipe in Stonehaven.
Emergency crews were called to the scene in Market Square at around 10.10am on Tuesday to reports of a car crashing into two stationary vehicles.
Properties and shops in the area had to be temporarily evacuated after the crash resulted in a damaged gas pipe.
Gas engineers proceeded to fix the issue and make the area safe, and no injuries were reported as a result.
A 63-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.13am on Tuesday, December 13 to reports of a three-vehicle road traffic collision at the Square in Stonehaven.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and three specialist resources to the scene, however only one appliance is currently in attendance.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 10.10am on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, we were called to a report of a car crashing into two stationary vehicles at Market Square, Stonehaven.
“Emergency services attended and a small number of properties and shops were evacuated temporarily due to a damaged gas pipe.
“The area was made safe by gas engineers. A 63-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident and is subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
