A man has been charged after five separate cars were stolen from in Moray in one night.
Police launched an investigation after a series of thefts from vehicles across Lossiemouth overnight between Friday, September 15, and Saturday, September 16.
Following a positive line of enquiry, officers executed a search warrant at a property on Inchbroom Avenue on Tuesday and recovered the stolen property.
A 51-year-old man was arrested in connection with the thefts.
He has since been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.
Constable Richard Russell, north east crime reduction officer, said: “It sounds simple but always remember to lock your car. This is the simplest way to keep your car safe.
“Get into the habit of locking the car every time you leave it and ensure your windows are closed.
“Never leave items on show, as this could be an invitation to opportunistic thieves – mobile phones, electronic equipment, coins, tools, bags and any other valuables should be removed from the vehicle or placed in the boot.”
