iStockA man has been charged after a woman’s body was discovered following a flat fire in Dundee.
Emergency services were called to a flat in the Byron Street area at around 7.25am on Friday morning.
Two fire engines were sent to the scene, and the blaze was extinguished.
The body of a 37-year-old woman was found within. Her family have been informed, and they are being provided with support by specially trained officers.
Following a post-mortem examination, the woman’s death is being treated as murder.
Officers confirmed a 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death on Sunday.
The man is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday, November 3.
