A man has been charged in connection with attempted murder after the rape of a woman in the outskirts of Aberdeen.
Emergency services were called to a property on Charleston Road North in the Cove area of the city, after an unidentified man entered a dwelling at around 9.15pm on Saturday, before allegedly seriously sexually assaulting a woman in her 30s.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into the incident.
He has also been charged with attempted murder.
The man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday, June 13.
A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police confirmed that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, but there will continue to be a police presence in the area until the investigation is complete.
