Police have charged a man for “deliberately coughing” on another person during an argument amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The force said they would “not tolerate” that type of behaviour given the “current climate”.
The 60-year-old suspect is alleged to have coughed on the other man within a car park in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, on Wednesday morning.
A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 60-year-old man has been charged in relation to an incident that happened in a car park in the Burn Lane area of Inverurie around 11.10am on Wednesday.
“The 60-year-old allegedly deliberately coughed at another man following an argument.
“A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
“This behaviour can cause a lot of distress and anxiety in the current climate and we will not tolerate this.”
