A man has been charged in connection with an attempted murder in St Andrews.
Emergency services were call to Boase Avenue in the university town at around 1.45am on Wednesday morning, following reports of an injured man.
The 40-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment to a stab wound.
Hospital staff described his condition as stable.
A 20-year-old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the attack.
He is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court at a later date.
A police spokesperson said: “A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a 40-year-old man on Boase Avenue, St Andrews on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
“He was released on an undertaking to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court at a later date. A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
