A man, who was previously released after being arrested in connection with a suspicious death in Aberdeen, has now been charged with murder.

Austin Ironside was discovered seriously injured on Skene Street around 3pm on August 3.

The 25-year-old was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he died days later.

Police Scotland said the death was being treated as suspicious following a post-mortem examination.

On Monday, officers confirmed a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death and then released from custody.

However, on Wednesday, officers said the man had been re-arrested and charged in connection with the death.

Scott Adams appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with murder and robbery.

The 46-year-old made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

He is due to appear in court again within the next eight days.
