A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of an elderly woman at a house in Moray.
Scott McCulloch made no plea as he was accused of inflicting fatal injuries on the 84-year-old.
Police were called to Oystercatcher Close in Forres on Sunday, August 28 following reports of a disturbance.
The woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, but passed away six days later.
McCulloch, 25, was charged with attempted murder during an initial appearance on August 30, but that was upgraded to murder on September 7.
He has been remanded in custody pending a further hearing at Inverness Sheriff Court.
