A man has died after a two-vehicle crash on the A90 near Stonehaven.
Police are in attendance following the collision at the Lumgair junction, which happened around 5pm on Friday.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene, while another has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
The road has been closed in both directions.
A Police Scotland statement said: “We are currently in attendance following a serious road crash between two vehicles on the A90 at the Lumgair junction, near Stonehaven.
“The crash happened around 5pm. A man has been pronounced dead at the scene.
“A man has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
“The road is closed in both directions at Stonehaven and diversions are in place.”
