A man has died at a music festival celebrating the life of AC/DC legend Bon Scott in Angus.
Officers were called to Bonfest in Kirriemuir on Saturday afternoon after receiving a report concerning the death of a 53-year-old man.
Organisers of the rock festival said they were greatly saddened by the man’s passing.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.10pm on Saturday, April 30, officers attended a report of the death of a 53-year-old man at the Bonfest Festival Site near Kirriemuir.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Around 50 bands and artists performed at various pubs and stages in Kirriemuir over the weekend to celebrate the life of Australian rock musician Bon Scott, who grew up in the town.
Scott died in 1980 at the age of 33.
This year’s festival was the first to take place in the town since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
The festival’s organiser’s posted a statement about the death on social media.
They said: “The Bonfest committee is greatly saddened to announce that a man in his 50s, a UK resident, sadly died on Saturday April 30 while attending Bonfest.
“The next of kin have been informed and there are no suspicious circumstances.
“Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this sad time.”
