A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital after being found injured on the street in the Kincorth area of Aberdeen.

An investigation has been launched after a man was found injured in the early hours of the morning in Aberdeen.

Police were called to the Gardner Road area of Kincorth around 5.50am on Sunday after the man was discovered.

The 47-year-old was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with what are described as serious injuries.

Officers are now investigating how the man came to be injured and have appealed for information.

Detective Constable Justine Hanlon said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are appealing for information from the public to find out how this man received these injuries.

“Officers will be carrying out patrols and enquiries in the Kincorth area, and anyone with concerns can approach them.

“If anyone was in the area around that time and saw anything suspicious, or has private CCTV or dash cam footage which captured anything, please contact police.”
