A man is in hospital after being hit by a lorry at rush hour on the A90 in Aberdeenshire.
Police confirmed a crash took place on the major road near Marykirk at around 5am on Thursday morning involving a lorry and a male pedestrian.
The 45-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee to be treated for serious injuries and enquiries into the crash are ongoing at the scene.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man walking southwards by the southbound carriageway shortly before the crash took place.
Sergeant Sarah Ritchie said: “We would like to thank those witnesses who have spoken with officers already and continue to appeal for anyone else who saw the crash, or may have seen the pedestrian, to please come forward.
“Any motorists with dashcam footage from that section of the A90 prior to 5am are also urged to contact us.”

Traffic Scotland confirmed the road was closed heading south from the Marykirk junction to the North Water Bridge junction with diversions in place.
A Traffic Scotland post read: “The A90 at Laurencekirk is closed southbound from Marykirk junction to North Water Bridge junction.
“Please avoid the area, if possible.”
