A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault.

Police were called at 3.45am on Saturday following the report of a serious assault in Rattery, Blairgowrie.

A 35-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with serious injuries.

Enquiries are currently ongoing to trace those involved.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0866.
