A man has been reported by police following the theft of milk and food deliveries from doorsteps in Aberdeen.
Police said the thefts had put people at risk by forcing them to “leave their homes unnecessarily” during the coronavirus pandemic to repurchase the stolen items.
The theft of the morning deliveries took place within the Northfield area during the early hours of Thursday, April 23.
Following complaints from a number of residents, extensive house-to-house and CCTV enquiries took place.
Several named suspects were also investigated.
On Saturday, police confirmed that a man has now been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the offences.
Constable David Padgham said: “The theft of milk may seem like a trivial or childish crime to commit, however during such uncertain and turbulent times the act of one person has forced people to leave their homes unnecessarily to repurchase essential items, putting themselves and their families at risk.
“We’d like to thank members of the community for their support.”
