A man required hospital treatment after he was assaulted and robbed in an early morning attack in Dundee days before Hogmanay.
At around 1am on Wednesday December 28, a 32-year-old man was assaulted and robbed on St Andrew’s Street in the city.
During the incident a mobile phone and a three-figure quantity of cash was stolen.
The man received a facial injury and attended Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Detective constable Louise Meechan said: “Our enquiries are continuing into this incident and I would appeal to any witnesses or anyone with information to contact us.
“We are keen to trace a man who assisted the injured man immediately after the attack, however he left the area prior to Police involvement. The man we are hoping to trace was walking with his dog in St Andrews Street.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers through 101 with reference 0373 of December 28.
“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
