Man seriously injured after assault on Aberdeenshire street

A man has been left seriously injured after an assault on a street in Aberdeenshire.

The incident occurred between 12.50am and 1.15am on August 22 as the victim was walking along West High Street in Inverurie.

He was attacked by another male.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Sergeant Mark Adam said: “This was a terrifying incident for the man involved who was left with serious injuries as a result.

“Our enquiries remain ongoing into this incident, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has yet to speak to police to come forward.

“We’d also ask that those in the local area who have private CCTV or dash-cams to review the footage to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
