A man has been taken to hospital after armed police were called to a property in Dundee.
Firearms officers were called to an address on Earlston Avenue around 12.10pm on Friday following reports of concern for a person.
It is understood a firearm was discharged by police during the incident.
A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital for assessment and enquiries remain ongoing.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Chief Inspector David Gibson said: “We are aware this incident will be of concern to the local community, but we would like to reassure everyone that this was self-contained and there was no wider risk to the public.”
The circumstances have been referred to the Police Investigation and Review Commissioner (PIRC).
