A man has been charged after armed police were called to reports of a person carrying a weapon in Aberdeenshire.
Police were called an address in Port Elphinstone, Inverurie shortly before 3pm on Wednesday, where specialist officers were seen searching near a property at Crichie Circle.
Police said that it had been reported that a man was seen “in possession of a possible weapon”.
A 41-year-old man was arrested and has been charged in connection with the incident.
He is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.
The force said that no one was injured as a result of the incident and that there is no wider threat to the public.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers, including specialist officers, attended an address at Crichie Circle in Port Elphinstone, Inverurie, following reports of a man seen in possession of a possible weapon in the Elphinstone Road area.
“Police were called to the scene at around 2.55pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.
“A 41-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.
“No one was injured during the incident and there was no risk to the wider public.”
