A pedestrian who died after being hit by a car on the A9 in Perth has been named by police.
John Stanley Lewis, also known as Cameron, was walking between the Inveralmond and Broxden roundabouts when he was struck by a white Peugeot 2008 car around 1.30pm on Wednesday.
The 42-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 31-year-old woman, was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary as a precaution and later discharged.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services carried out investigations at the scene and reopened around 7pm.
Sergeant Kevin Wilkie, of the Road Policing Unit in Perth, said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Lewis’ family and friends.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would urge anyone who may have information or dashcam footage from the road at the time to contact officers.”
