Two men have been arrested after they held up staff at an Angus supermarket and fled the scene.
Officers were called to reports of two people shoplifting from an Arbroath supermarket at around 10.40am on Tuesday.
After presenting the knife at staff members, the men fled the scene in a vehicle – leading to a police chase.
Two men, aged 22 and 24, were arrested approximately 18 miles away, at Adamson Court in Dundee.
Police Inspector David Gibson of Abroath Police Office said : “We received a report of shoplifting involving two men at a supermarket in Arbroath at around 10.40am on Tuesday, September 6.
“The men presented a knife at staff and thereafter made off in a vehicle.
“A pursuit was commenced and men aged 24 and 22 were arrested at Adamson Court in Dundee at short time later. Enquiries are ongoing.”
