A missing chicken has been reunited with its owner after hitching a lift 25 miles on the back of a Land Rover.
Dave Jacobs found a chicken wandering around Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire at around 6am on Saturday.
Assuming the missing bird had come from a nearby house, which also houses chickens, he put it in the coop.
He then stuck out a social media appeal for the owner, and to his surprise, a farmer from Kintore came forward to claim the missing bird.
Dave claims the chicken, which is named Kiev, had roosted on the back of the farmer’s friend’s Land Rover spare wheel, who had been visiting him the evening before.

He said: “Kiev hitched a ride from Kintore to Stonehaven on the back of a Land Rover Discovery’s spare wheel 25 miles away, and I found him wandering about the sauna at 6am on Saturday.
“I initially thought he was a one of a nearby houses chickens so put it in their chicken coop, they were away for the weekend.
“The owner of the chicken saw my video on Facebook that morning and phoned me to say it was his chicken.
“The chicken had roosted on the back of his friends Land Rover spare wheel who had been visiting him the evening before.
“He didn’t seem that bothered, he’s a farmer.”
