Family and friends of a missing Arbroath man are continuing their search for him nearly three days after he disappeared.
21-year-old Bailey Mearns, also known as Bailey Menmuir, was last seen on Strathairlie Avenue around 7am on Monday.
19-year-old Liam Bell, who’s close to Bailey said: “Right now I’m in disbelief, I’m shocked and devastated as Bailey is one of my right hand men.
“My message to the public is to just keep sharing [the] post on social media and do not at all hesitate to call the police if you think you see Bailey as we would rather you did than didn’t.”
Since Monday more than 100 people from Arbroath, including Bailey’s relatives, have conducted foot searches for him.
Relatives and friends have put up posters across Tayside and plan to continue their search on Wednesday evening.
Mr Bell added: “I want to tell Bailey that we all love him and if only you could see how many people have came together over these past 40 hours and realised how many people care for you and want you here, I’m sure you’d come home.”
Another friend Kym McCagh said: “I want Bailey to know if he needed a few days away that’s fine.
“But now, we want him home and to know that he’s safe.”
Tayside Police says it will conduct door to door enquiries and search around the Strathairlie Avenue area.
Anyone who may have information about Bailey is asked to contact the police on 101.
