A busy road in Aberdeen continues to face closure following a flooded gas network.

Work was undertaken over the weekend on the A96 Great Northern Road as engineers attempted to restore gas supplies.

Properties in Manor Drive, Manor Avenue, Manor Walk, Logie Place and Logie Terrace were all affected.

Drivers faced disruption over the weekend, with travellers being told to expect delays following the incident on Saturday.

In an update on Monday, SGN said that workers had removed more than 110,000 litres of water from the flooded gas network in Great Northern Road.

And they said that engineers had drafted in extra engineers from across Scotland, as it continues to pump out water using specialist equipment.

In an update on Monday morning, SGN said: “Again, we’re really sorry for the inconvenience this is causing and thank you for your continued support and understanding.”
