A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car in Aberdeenshire on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services were called at around 1.10pm on November 9 following the collision on the A952 near Clola.

Police confirmed that a 48-year-old man, the rider of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed.

The driver of the car, a 69-year-old woman, was checked at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the cause of the crash, police said.

The road was closed in both directions between Mintlaw and the Toll of Birness for around 18 hours and reopened shortly before 7.30am on Friday morning.

A Police Spokesperson said: “Around 1.10pm on Thursday, November 9, 2023, we received a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the A952 near to Clola.

“Emergency services attended and a 48-year-old man, the driver of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.

“The driver of the car, a 69-year-old woman, was checked at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

“The road has re-opened.”
